2 Kings 15-25

Two Kings stand out to me King Hezekiah and Josiah.

Hezekiah was truly humble when pleading for his life and when he found out God had spared him. That didn’t keep him from becoming puffed up immediately after that. But Hezekiah walks right out from this place of humility, right smack into the place of pride. ( 2 Kings 29).

Its not ironic the same people he Showing off to were the same people who would come and take the kingdom into capitivity in the future.

When the ambassadors from Babylon came,  Hezekiah takes them throuh the palace showing off all the riches of the kingdom.
Yet what stood out to me is that He wasn't concerned what would happen to the future generations when Samuel gave him the word of the Lord after he showed all that was in his house. It was like it wasn't going to happen to him. He was good with all his riches in his mind.

King Josiah was a fresh of breath air compared to Mannesah.
King Josiah was one of the greatest king's who led a reformation in destroying the wickedness, idolatry and divination workers ( 2 Kings 23:24)

In 2 Kings 23-25 it declares:
“Never before had there been a King like Josiah, who turned to the Lord with all his heart and soul and strength, and there has never been a King like him”.

Lesson from studying today's reading is that God answers prayers but we must not forget to walk in humility.

Generational issues  must be dealt (deliverance). In addition continual and unrepented sins leads to bondage (the wages of sin is death).

What we also do affects our future generations. We see this in the result of The end of  2 Kings that  disobedience, along with unfaithfulness and repeated sins of the people, led them into capitivity from Babylon.
